Final triathlon of the season and I am beyond words. Everything I have done this year has been in preparation for this race. This is my second podium of the year and none of this is possible without the blessing and graciousness of God. He continues to allow me to do what I love and something that has been a huge part of my life for over a decade now. Sharing the podium with teammates makes it even more special. This has been a “rebirth” year for me as an athlete, and it has been a long road. But I’m not done yet. I still have more work I want to do and more goals I want to achieve. So, the only thing I can say is do the work necessary to achieve your goals and dreams, give full credit to the designer and creator of life, remain humble and never take for granted the journey you are on.

I had a great day racing at the Smith Mountain Lake Sprint Triathlon. God gave me another day of doing what I love to do, and it is only through Him I can perform like I have been. Another massive PR today with a race time of 1:33:10, which is over 20 min faster than my fastest time in races with similar distances. My mind is absolutely blown away by God’s blessings. My performance got me 2nd place in the Clydesdale division, and I believe this is only the 3rd time in my triathlon journey where I have made the podium as an individual. I continue to work hard and give God all the glory. I beat my average swim time by almost 4 min despite not being able to lift one of my arms above my head several months ago. My bike is where I struck the match and improved my time by over 12 min and increased my 20-min FTP by 7 points. My average pace on the run was 43 sec per mile faster than my previous races and this wasn’t an easy course. I am absolutely thrilled with how I performed and thank you to my wife Stephanie and my son Braeden for being there and supporting me.
